How are you dealing with Covid-19?
Safety is always our top priority. For the latest updates about what is/isn't running and how we are making ourselves Covid Secure, please go to our Covid-19 page.
What age is the youngest you take?

We can run sessions for anyone from age 6 upwards. Most of our sessions are for students in Years 4-6.

What should my child wear for class?

Non-marking shoes, tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt. It gets hot wearing all the kit, so jumpers aren't a good idea.

Are your classes insured?

We have public liability insurance with Hiscox. Documents are available on request. For additional individual insurance, students should go to www.britishfencing.com.

What are your term dates?

It depends on the school. We aim to run an average of 10 sessions per term (30) over the academic year.

What equipment should we buy?

Equipment for school sessions is provided. However, if you are thinking of purchasing anything we would always suggest speaking to Phil first. Good first items include breeches, masks or gloves. Our recommended suppliers are PBT-UK, Leon Paul or Allstar.

Are your teachers qualified?

Yes. Phil is a qualified teacher as well as a level 5 coach. He is registered with British Fencing and has up to date DBS clearance, Safeguarding and First Aid Training.

Can you direct me to a local fencing club?

If you are looking for a local sabre fencing club, why not try MX Fencing Club? Or you could try searching for local clubs here.

Can parents watch?

We have an open door policy and parents or teachers are welcome to watch - but we always operate under the school's own policy, which may be different.

What is your ratio of children to coaches?

It depends on the age and experience of the class, but it ranges from 8 - 12. The coach will always have final say.

How do we pay?

We accept Stripe or Paypal payments through our online booking system. Cash or Cheques should be in a clearly labelled envelope and handed directly to the coach.
